2025 Ducati Panigale V4: Significant Updates in Design, Chassis, and Technology
Ducati has launched the 2025 Panigale V4 in India, making waves in the superbike community. The base model is priced at ₹30 lakhs, while the high-end V4 S variant has a price tag of ₹36.50 lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom in India). These prices represent an increase from previous models, with the base model seeing an increase of ₹2.27 lakhs and the V4 S seeing an increase of ₹3.02 lakhs.
Major Changes in Design and Performance
The 2025 Panigale V4 series has undergone some of its most extensive updates since its introduction in 2018. These changes encompass the engine, chassis, electronics, and aerodynamics to enhance performance and the rider’s overall experience.
Engine Details
At the heart of the 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 remains the well-known 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine. For this year, it meets the stricter Euro 5+ emissions standards. The engine still churns out 216 HP at 13,500 RPM, which is a minor increase of 0.5 HP. However, this peak power is reached 500 RPM higher than in previous models. The maximum torque is now at 120.9 Nm, which is slightly lower than before, coming in at 11,250 RPM, 1750 RPM later in the powerband. Notably, both the standard and V4 S models utilize this same engine configuration.
Chassis and Suspension Revisions
While the front frame remains the same as before, the rear of the bike has seen key design changes. Ducati has switched to a traditional swingarm, departing from the single-sided design they have used for years. This new setup is reported to be 2.7 kg lighter, improving the bike’s handling and agility.
The suspension setups differ between the two models. The basic Panigale V4 comes with fully adjustable Showa suspension, while the V4 S boasts electronic Öhlins suspension, allowing for instant adjustments while riding.
Tyres, Braking System, and Aerodynamics
The 2025 Panigale V4 rides on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 tyres. The tyre size remains at 120/70-ZR17 in the front and 200/60-ZR17 in the rear. When it comes to braking, new Brembo Hypure calipers are introduced, promising better heat dissipation during hard braking compared to the older Stylema calipers.
Ducati has also improved the bike’s aerodynamics with a new fairing design that offers enhanced wind protection. Although the downforce from the winglets remains unchanged, their placement has been adjusted for better efficiency. Additionally, there are new designs for both the headlamp and tail lamp, enhancing the bike’s modern aesthetic.
Updated Technology and Features
The electronics package has received a significant upgrade, featuring a new 6.9-inch TFT display. Among the technological advancements is the new Race eCBS (Electronic Combined Braking System), which automatically applies the rear brake in certain scenarios, such as when the bike leans or is under hard braking, even if the rider does not manually engage it.
The Panigale V4 continues to include a comprehensive range of electronic features, such as traction control, wheelie control, launch control, cornering ABS, a six-axis IMU, and a bi-directional quick shifter. Riders have the flexibility to customize these settings to suit their individual preferences.
The V4 S Variant
The V4 S variant sets itself apart with various performance improvements. It features lighter aluminum wheels and the advanced electronic Öhlins suspension, along with a lithium-ion battery that helps in reducing its weight by 4 kg. The V4 S now weighs 187 kg, while the standard model comes in at 191 kg.
Pricing and Market Outlook
With prices starting at ₹30 lakhs for the standard Panigale V4 and reaching up to ₹36.50 lakhs for the V4 S, Ducati’s latest superbike positions itself as a premium offering in this segment. The 2025 Panigale V4 lineup showcases a blend of cutting-edge technology, performance enhancements, and aesthetic upgrades, reinforcing Ducati’s reputation in the high-performance motorcycle market.
