2025 Renault Kiger Facelift Caught During Testing Once More

The 2025 Renault Kiger Facelift: What’s New?
Renault is working on an updated version of its Kiger sub-4 meter SUV, which is expected to be released in 2025. This facelift comes as the launch of the new Duster has been pushed back to 2026. The original Kiger has been on sale since 2021 without any major updates, so this facelift is much anticipated.
Current Market Performance
The sub-4-meter SUV segment in India has proven to be quite popular with buyers. However, in terms of sales, the Kiger has faced tough competition. In January 2025, the Kiger sold only 755 units. In contrast, its sibling model, the Nissan Magnite, managed to sell 2,404 units during the same month, highlighting the need for Renault to refresh the Kiger to attract more customers.
Spy Shots Reveal New Features
Recently, we got a clearer look at the Kiger facelift through some spy shots taken in Ooty, India. The test mules show that while the overall shape of the Kiger will remain the same, there are some noticeable changes. The main updates will be seen in the plastic and fiber components, particularly the bumpers, although the actual design remains hidden due to camouflage.
Exterior Design Updates
The exterior of the updated Kiger keeps many elements from the current model. Features like the rear split spoiler, roof rails, shark fin antenna, and C-shaped LED tail lights appear consistent with the existing version. The tail lights now showcase a more sophisticated lens design, possibly offering a clearer or smoked finish. The alloy wheels are expected to be redesigned but will likely stay at 16 inches.
One exciting new feature spotted is the addition of a 360-degree camera integrated into the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), offering enhanced visibility and safety while driving.
Interior Expectations
Moving to the interior, the Kiger currently offers a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with an array of other conveniences such as auto climate control and a digital instrument cluster. With the facelift, we anticipate additional features like:
- 360-degree camera system
- Ventilated front seats
- Auto headlights
- Rain-sensing wipers
Powertrain Options
Under the hood, we expect the engine options to stay the same with a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a turbocharged version of the same size, providing up to 100 bhp and 152 Nm of torque. These engines will continue to come with a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission, a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), and a continuously variable transmission (CVT), depending on the engine chosen.
Expected Changes in the Front
The front of the Kiger facelift will likely feature a tweaked design with a more robust bumper and potentially new fog lights, as the current model lacks this feature. The camouflage on the test mules hides many details, but early indications suggest that the split headlight design with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) will be carried over from the existing model.
As more updates come in, the anticipation for the Kiger facelift continues to grow. Buyers are eager to see how Renault will refresh this model to compete more effectively in the increasingly crowded Indian SUV market.
