2025 Tata Altroz Facelift Caught on Camera

Tata Motors is preparing to launch a facelift for its Altroz model, and recent spy shots have revealed some details about the expected updates. Although the test vehicle was heavily camouflaged, it is clear that the Altroz will feature some changes to its design both inside and out. However, it seems that the engine options will remain the same as in the current model.
Looking at the exterior, it appears that there won’t be any drastic alterations. One noticeable change is the revamped bumper design, while the headlight setup looks similar to what is currently available. There’s hope that the new model will come equipped with LED headlights. There have also been updates seen in the tail lights and turn signals, which now feature new LED elements. The side profile of the vehicle will largely stay the same, but a fresh design for the alloy wheels is expected.
Inside the Altroz, we might see some new materials used for the upholstery and door trims, although much of the cabin will likely be carried over from the previous version. A significant change could be the introduction of some premium features in lower variants. For example, the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman is currently only available in the higher-end XZ LUX variant but may soon be offered in some lower trims as well. This could make the Altroz more appealing to potential buyers who are looking for modern technology without opting for the most expensive variant.
Moreover, features that were previously exclusive to the special Altroz Racer edition, like ventilated front seats, could possibly be included in the standard top-spec model. Such enhancements will give the Altroz an edge against competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20.
Another impressive feature that has generated interest is the voice-activated electric sunroof, which is available from the Altroz XM+ S trim upwards. In the premium hatchback category, both the Altroz and the Hyundai i20 offer this feature, but it’s worth noting that neither the Baleno nor Glanza includes a sunroof, yet they continue to lead sales in this segment.
As for the powertrain, the Altroz facelift is likely to retain the same engine options. It stands out in the market as the only premium hatchback that still offers a diesel engine, while competitors like the Baleno and i20 have moved away from diesel options due to stricter emissions regulations. The Altroz comes with two petrol engines and a diesel option. The naturally aspirated 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque, available with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There is also a turbocharged 1.2-liter petrol engine paired specifically with the Altroz Racer edition, generating 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque. For diesel fans, the 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine delivers 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, offered only with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Despite these features, the Altroz has struggled to match the sales of its rivals, primarily the Maruti Baleno, as well as the Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20. Whether the new updates will turn the tide for Tata’s Altroz in the competitive market remains to be seen.
