We’ll continue to enjoy the Sonic updates today because it’s very nostalgic and I’m embracing the fact that I’m getting older with all the aches and pains that the cold weather has brought. With Sonic the Hedgehog 3 upon us, three of the franchise’s mobile titles are celebrating.
Let’s start with Sonic Dash, available on iOS and Android. From December 30th you can earn your favorite stars from the Sonic movie. Movie Sonic and Movie Shadow can be unlocked by collecting cards, and extra rewards are available via daily collectibles. The Apple Arcade version will also receive its own Shadow-themed update in January 2025.
Our next little update is about Sonic Forces. Releasing on December 12, you’ll be able to take on events like Movie Sonic, Movie Shadow, and more. There will be three additional tracks to master, all set in the new Metro-city zone. You can enjoy this racing-based entertainment on Apple and Android.
Finally, this latest batch of updates is only for those with an Apple Arcade subscription, and unfortunately for Android gamers, it’s the biggest yet. For starters, Sonic Dream Team will add a number of powers, with Quick Grind, Perfect Jump, Chain Attack and Perfect Boost available for all characters. Shadow himself will also have Double Chaos Shift and expanded Chaos Control abilities.
By slightly spoiling the next reveal, you can take on Tails’ challenges as Shadow. You can tackle special levels that will earn you great rewards and the chance to play Shadow in Adventure. With Chaos Control and Chaos Shift, you can leave enemies stuck in place and harmless and outrun them all.
Six Shadow-themed statues will be up for grabs, and fan-favorite music tracks can be found in Tails’ Challenges. Finally, for those who are new to the game thanks to the new video, a completely reworked tutorial is available. So be sure to check out Sonic Dream Team on Apple Arcade when the update releases on December 18th.
