Rumored New Price for GTA 6 Surfaces, Now Even Higher Than Before

New rumors about the price of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) have emerged, suggesting it may cost more than what many had anticipated.
Despite the lack of official communication from Rockstar Games regarding GTA 6 for over a year, fans are still buzzing with excitement. They have been scouring social media and exploring GTA Online, hoping to uncover hints about the game.
Numerous experts and analysts have weighed in with opinions and predictions about the game’s potential release and pricing. Some predictions have indicated that the price point might be quite steep.
At the beginning of March, Michael Pachter, an expert from Wedbush Securities, stated that the price of GTA 6 could be “unheard of,” potentially exceeding $100.
GTA 6 Might Cost $112
This speculation has sparked concern among fans of the series, many of whom are hesitant about such a significant price increase.
Adding to this speculation, a Swiss retailer named Brack has listed pre-orders for GTA 6. They are offering the base edition for 99 CHF, which converts to approximately £90, €103, or $112.
Reactions from fans reveal a mix of disbelief and acceptance. One fan exclaimed, “$112 is crazy, I’ll still get it, but I hope it’s not true.” Another expressed frustration, saying, “$178AUD? Bruh, you’re joking…” while discussing the pricing swap on platforms like Reddit.
The Brack listing is the most expensive yet.
Some commenters noted that this price might simply be a placeholder, and could change once Rockstar makes an official announcement.
Brack is considered a reputable retailer, having correctly listed prices and items in the past.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, shared his thoughts on the pricing rumors, mentioning that the focus is on providing value greater than the price charged.
Industry experts have suggested that many game developers are observing GTA 6’s pricing decisions, waiting to see if this blockbuster title will pave the way for a shift in how video games are priced. Michael Douse, the Director of Publishing for Larian Studios, emphasized this viewpoint in discussions about the subject.
