Apple Intelligence Achieves Full Support in the EU with iOS 18.4

The new iOS 18.4 update brings many enhancements for iPhone users, especially for those in the European Union (EU). One of the most notable changes in the first beta version is that Apple Intelligence is now fully available to EU users.
When Apple first introduced Apple Intelligence at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last June, there was some disappointing news. The company announced that, at that time, EU users would not have access to this feature. The reason behind this limitation was to navigate through specific regulations in the EU.
Unlike the Mac computers, iPhones and iPads faced different requirements due to the EU’s Digital Markets Act, which restricted how Apple could roll out this feature. For several months, EU users had to wait for updates and news regarding the availability of Apple Intelligence.
Finally, Apple shared good news when they publicly launched Apple Intelligence for users and announced that EU users would also gain access. They confirmed that it would come in April through a software update, which turned out to be iOS 18.4.
With the arrival of the first beta version of iOS 18.4, beta testers in the EU can now access Apple Intelligence before it is available to everyone in April. This news comes alongside Apple’s efforts to expand language support within the update, making it more accessible to users across the EU.
Previously, if you were located in the EU, your iPhone and iPad could not use Apple Intelligence at all. This restriction applied regardless of your device’s region settings or the languages you chose. Apple had blocked access to this AI feature simply based on the location.
However, beta users are now able to use Apple Intelligence, with access currently restricted only in China. It is hoped that this will also change in the near future. For those who are not part of the beta testing but are looking forward to the public release, iOS 18.4 will be available for everyone in early April, bringing support for Apple Intelligence at that time.
