Apple Releases Initial Public Betas of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4

Apple has recently released the first public beta versions of its latest software updates: iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, watchOS 11.4, and tvOS 15.4. This allows users who participate in the public beta testing program to experience new features before these updates become widely available. This announcement comes shortly after Apple shared the beta versions with developers.

Those interested in trying these updates can easily download them through the Settings app on their devices, after registering for beta testing on Apple’s dedicated website.

The new updates introduced for iPhones, iPads, and Macs come with several exciting features. One of the most notable additions is Priority Notifications, which is an Apple tool designed to help users see their most important notifications first. Users will also enjoy a new Sketch style option in the Image Playground feature.

Another improvement is for Apple News+ subscribers, as a new Food section will be added. This section will bring together recipes, food-related articles, and health tips, making it easier for users to find culinary inspiration. Additionally, there’s a new Ambient Music feature, which allows users to play relaxing music directly from the Control Center of their devices.

For owners of the Vision Pro headset, iOS 18.4 includes a dedicated app that facilitates the management of the headset. This app will help users discover and download new apps, games, and television content directly to the Vision Pro using their iPhone. Furthermore, it will support a Guest Mode, allowing others to test out the headset with ease.

The updates will also introduce Mail Categorization features on both iPads and Macs, which were previously only available on iPhones.

For those interested in more details about these features, additional information can be found in a separate iOS 18.4 beta post.

In a smaller yet worthwhile update, CarPlay users will also notice a change with the new iOS 18.4 beta. The interface now supports a third row of icons, providing an easier navigation experience on vehicles equipped with larger screens.

On the topic of the iPhone, recent leaks have hinted at the new camera designs for the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, showing various styles across different models, including the standard iPhone 17 and the new ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air.

The new beta also comes with a unique Ambient Music feature that can be accessed through the Control Center. This includes four sound categories: Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Wellbeing. Each category can be triggered separately, playing a random selection of sounds perfect for different moods or activities.

There are also rumors about the launch of a second-generation AirTag expected to arrive in May or June. This device is anticipated to have significant enhancements, including a more advanced Ultra Wideband chip.

Reports have surfaced discussing Apple’s advancements in creating a foldable iPhone, suggesting that the company has made progress in eliminating the problem of visible screen creases found in current models.

As spring approaches, many are curious about other new products Apple may introduce, especially after the recent announcement of the more affordable iPhone 16e. There are expectations for upgrades in various product categories, with hopes for surprises, including entirely new product types.

Lastly, Apple addressed concerns regarding the absence of MagSafe support in the iPhone 16e, clarifying that its modem design does not interfere with this feature, dismissing earlier speculations linking the two.
