The New 2025 Audi A5 and S5: A Closer Look

Powerful Performance Options

The regular A5 comes equipped with a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine that generates 268 horsepower and an impressive 295 pound-feet of torque. If you’re looking for more power, you can upgrade to the S5, which features a robust 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine delivering 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Both versions are paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, transferring power to the dependable quattro all-wheel drive system.

Audi has also made significant enhancements to the driving experience. The steering rack is now mounted directly to the body, and a stiffer torsion bar contributes to improved road feedback. The front suspension has also been revamped for quicker steering responses, making it more fun to drive.

Excellent Handling on Curvy Roads

The A5 is designed for handling, especially on twisting roads. With rear-biased anti-roll stabilization and an improved connection to the rear suspension, the car feels stable and balanced. The S5 goes a step further by offering an optional adaptive S sport suspension paired with electronic dampers and three adjustable driving modes. Regardless of which model you choose, the S5 sits 20 millimeters lower than the A5.

When it comes to wheels, the standard A5 has the choice of either 18 or 19-inch wheels fitted with all-season run-flat tires. The sportier S5, on the other hand, is available with 19 or 20-inch wheels that can come with summer or run-flat tires.

Striking Design Features

The design of the new A5 has everyone talking. Compared to the previous A4, the new model is 2.6 inches longer, 0.5 inches wider, and 1.6 inches taller. The rear end features sleek lines that end in a lip spoiler above the trunk lid, which opens along with the rear window, just like a hatchback. The trunk itself boasts 22.6 cubic feet of cargo space, which can extend to 36.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

A unique front-end design includes a larger honeycomb grille and slimmer headlights, which give it a more aggressive appearance. The S5 model features side air intakes and distinct three-dimensional air curtains. Additionally, the rear design incorporates a light strip that runs the full width of the car, along with an integrated darkened diffuser, giving it a sporty look from every angle.

Advanced Lighting Technology

One standout feature of the A5 is its lighting system. It offers customizable LED daytime running lights on higher trims, as well as digital OLED taillights. The rear light strip is composed of around 60 segments per panel, with the top trim featuring six OLED panels, accumulating over 360 segments for truly unique customization options.

Tech-Savvy Cabin Features

Inside, the 2025 A5 is packed with advanced technology, offering a mix of comfort and utility. The dashboard includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch MMI infotainment screen. For tech enthusiasts, an additional 10.9-inch front passenger display can transform the dashboard into a high-tech space.

Audi has also introduced a “dynamic interaction light” (IAL), an LED strip that runs across the dashboard and reacts when the car is locked, unlocked, or when turn signals are active.

A standout optional feature is the adjustable head-up display, which Audi claims is 85% larger than in previous models. For audiophiles, the Bang & Olufsen Premium sound system delivers 3D audio with up to 810 watts via 20 speakers. This includes four integrated headrest speakers in the front seats for a truly immersive audio experience. Navigation prompts can even be transmitted through these speakers to keep the car’s audio uninterrupted.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Audi A5 and S5 models are expected to hit U.S. showrooms before the second quarter of 2025, with starting prices around $47,700, not including an additional $1,295 for destination and delivery. Given their features and performance, many may find this price tag justifiable.

If you’re intrigued by what Audi has to offer, the A5 and S5 models provide a blend of style, performance, and cutting-edge technology that truly stands out in the market.
