BYD Atto 3 Facelift Introduced at CNY 116,000 (Approx. Rs 13.9 Lakhs)

BYD has established a strong presence in the electric vehicle market globally, particularly making its mark in India’s premium car sector. The Atto 3 is BYD’s most affordable electric model in India, starting at approximately ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom). Recently, BYD has introduced an updated version of the Atto 3 in China, featuring subtle design enhancements, additional features, and improved safety technology.

In the Chinese market, the Atto 3 is known as Yuan Plus and has enjoyed considerable popularity. However, due to increased competition and price drops in the sector, its sales have seen a slight decline over the past year. The facelifted version of Atto 3 aims to reverse this trend, showcasing design tweaks, new features, and a more attractive pricing strategy.

The starting price for the 2025 BYD Atto 3 facelift is set at CNY 115,800 (about ₹13.9 lakh), which is a reduction of CNY 1,000 (around ₹12,000) compared to the previous model in the lower trim levels. As part of the update, BYD has added new features such as a built-in refrigerator for beverages and snacks, along with the advanced God’s Eye C ADAS suite.

The Atto 3 facelift offers five trim levels, with the top variant priced at CNY 145,800 (approximately ₹17.5 lakh). The dimensions have largely remained the same, measuring 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Additionally, the new model is introduced in two new colors: Beige and Gray.

In terms of design, the Atto 3 facelift features refreshed lighting elements, larger air intakes on the front, a smoked headlight effect, blacked-out D-pillars, and a new roof spoiler that incorporates vertically arranged high-mount stop lamps. The rear has also been updated, swapping out the “BUILD YOUR DREAMS” lettering for the BYD logo above the revamped LED tail lights.

Inside the cabin, while the overall dashboard layout has remained mostly unchanged, the materials used are of high quality, consistent with BYD’s reputation. The steering wheel has received a redesign, lending a more sophisticated feel, and the center console has undergone significant modification. The gear selector has been relocated behind the steering wheel, enhancing the cabin’s organization.

In terms of technology, the coupe continues to feature a highly praised rotatable infotainment screen, an 8.8-inch instrument screen, a 12-inch heads-up display (HUD), and even a driver monitoring camera, which was previously seen in the Sealion 7. Other notable features include a wireless smartphone charger with 50W capacity and the sophisticated God’s Eye C DiPilot 100 ADAS system.

Power-wise, the 2025 Atto 3 retains its previous offerings in China, presenting two battery options of 49.9 kWh and 60.5 kWh. The vehicle promises a driving range of up to 430 km and 510 km per charge, depending on the selected battery. A single electric motor powers the front wheels, producing a peak power of 200 bhp.

While BYD India has yet to confirm the introduction of the Atto 3 facelift in the Indian market, many speculate that it may launch around the festive season, potentially making it an attractive option for those looking to invest in an electric vehicle.
