He joined the show at its inception in 2003 and, over two decades, brought us countless brilliant answers and many joyful moments. He cherished his role as an Egghead and will be profoundly missed by his Eggheads family.”
A service to celebrate Hughes’s life is set for March 14 at Crewe Crematorium, followed by a gathering at a local pub. Friends and fans have been asked to consider making donations to Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation in his memory.
