CMF Buds 2 Plus Unveiled through FCC Certification, Highlighting Essential Features

The CMF Buds 2 Plus are expected to launch soon, as indicated by their recent listing with the FCC, which provides important information about the product. These new wireless earbuds are designed similarly to the previous models from the brand, including a few new features that may enhance the user experience. One intriguing addition could be a Smart Dial, which would allow users to easily manage functions like volume and playback.
Previously, the CMF Buds made their debut in March of last year, followed by the launch of the Buds Pro 2 in July, which was the successor to the original Buds Pro released in September 2023. Now, it appears that this brand, a sub-brand of Nothing, is focusing on the release of the CMF Buds 2 Plus. The details shared through the FCC certification reveal aspects about their design, battery life, and other important specifications, although it is still uncertain whether the Buds 2 Plus will officially replace the original model.
The FCC listing shows that the new earbuds carry the model number B184. They will feature a square-shaped charging case, which has a rotating dial incorporated into its design. This “Smart Dial” is expected to enable users to adjust settings effortlessly, much like what is found in the Buds Pro 2, although such functionality was lacking in the original CMF Buds. The charging case is also marked with “CMF by Nothing” branding, highlighting its association with the brand.
The dimensions indicate that the charging case of the Buds 2 Plus measures 73mm by 64mm and weighs 105 grams. The earbuds will have a semi-in-ear design, although it hasn’t been confirmed if they will include silicone ear tips. Each earbud is built to contain a battery with a capacity of 53mAh, while the charging case features a larger 460mAh battery. The case is designed to support a 3W input and a 1.2W output, with each earbud charging at a rate of 0.6W.
Connectivity is also an important aspect, as the Buds 2 Plus will feature Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy, enhancing their compatibility with various devices. As of now, many specifics about the CMF Buds 2 Plus remain undisclosed, creating anticipation for their official announcement.
It is still unclear if these earbuds will launch at the same time as the Nothing Phone (3a) series, scheduled for March 4. For reference, the Buds Pro 2 is priced at Rs 4,299, while the original Buds are available for Rs 2,499. In related news, reports suggest that the CMF Phone 2 has also received BIS certification, hinting at further developments in the brand’s product lineup.
Overall, with the insights from the FCC certification, the CMF Buds 2 Plus appear to be an exciting next step in the brand’s product offerings and could soon be a favorite among users looking for quality audio accessories.
