Dassault Systèmes, a leader in creating virtual experiences, announced an exciting new development on February 25, 2025, in Vélizy-Villacoublay, France. The company revealed that they will launch a new app called “3DLive” this summer, which will enhance their 3D UNIV+RSES system using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This app will utilize spatial computing technology, allowing virtual models—known as virtual twins—to be experienced in a whole new way.
To make this innovation possible, Dassault Systèmes has teamed up with Apple. They are working closely together to integrate Apple’s new Vision Pro device into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. By combining the strengths of both technologies, they aim to create a stunning and immersive experience for users.
With the launch of 3DLive, users will be able to see virtual twins created on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform come to life in their own physical surroundings. This means that people will not just view these simulations on a screen but will be able to interact with them in real-time within their environment. The Apple Vision Pro features advanced cameras and sensors that enable these virtual twins to engage and respond to the actual world with high precision.
This powerful new way of modeling and visualizing products will benefit various industries and job roles. It will help businesses adjust quickly to changing market needs, maintain high standards of product quality, speed up training for new employees, and foster better collaboration and sharing of knowledge among teams.
Elisa Prisner, the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Platform Transformation at Dassault Systèmes, remarked that their partnership with Apple significantly advances the capabilities of 3D UNIV+RSES. She emphasized that this collaboration allows for a new blend of the real and virtual worlds, enhancing the way they represent various industries. The growing number of clients using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform highlights the value this partnership brings, focusing on how 3D can help companies optimize their use of virtual twin technology.
Mike Rockwell, who is the vice president of Apple’s Vision Products Group, shared his excitement about this collaboration, stating that the Apple Vision Pro is redefining what spatial computing can achieve. He believes that this partnership will enable engineers and designers to bring their 3D designs to life in ways that were previously impossible.
In addition to the 3DLive app, Dassault Systèmes is releasing another new app for the Apple Vision Pro called HomeByMe Reality. This app allows users to visualize and explore various home interior designs right from their own homes, furniture stores, or showrooms. HomeByMe Reality even lets people take virtual tours of real estate properties.
This groundbreaking announcement was shared during Dassault Systèmes’ annual 3DEXPERIENCE Forum held in Houston, a key event where industrial clients in North America gather to learn about new developments and technologies in the industry.
