Meanwhile, Mahindra showed impressive growth, selling 50,420 units, marking an 18.91% increase year-on-year, thanks to the increasing popularity of its SUV offerings.
Toyota also had a solid month, with sales jumping by 13.36% to 26,414 units, which is up from the 23,300 units sold last February. Kia’s performance was quite strong too; it sold 25,026 units, showcasing a robust 23.89% growth from 20,200 units in February 2024.

Additionally, Honda experienced the sharpest decline among top automakers, noting a 21.37% drop with just 5,616 units sold, down from 7,142 units in February 2024.

- Skoda: Volumes increased impressively by 147.69%, reaching 5,583 units compared to 2,254 units last year.
- Volkswagen: The brand saw modest growth of 3.01%, selling 3,110 units compared to 3,019 units in the previous year.
- MG Motor: Sales fell by 11.69%, with 4,002 units sold against 4,532 units last year.
- Renault: The company faced a steep decline of 34.41%, with sales dropping to 2,676 units.
Month-on-Month (MoM) Sales Analysis
Comparing February 2025 sales with January 2025 reveals a 5.19% dip in total sales, dropping from 401,538 units in January to 380,691 units in February. Leading the pack, even Maruti Suzuki observed a 7.38% decline, selling 160,791 units in February versus 173,599 units in January.
Hyundai encountered a more substantial 11.62% drop, with 47,727 units sold against 54,003 units in January. Tata Motors and Honda also experienced reductions of 3.41% and 7.98%, respectively.
Market Share Changes
The market share landscape also saw shifts. Despite remaining the top player with 42.24% share, Maruti Suzuki’s market share decreased from 43.06% in February 2024. Hyundai’s market share shrank to 12.54%, dropping 0.95% year-on-year. Tata Motors fell from 13.78% to 12.20%, a drop of 1.58%.
