First Renders Unveil Potential Design of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung was one of the first companies to introduce foldable smartphones, but in recent years, it has struggled to keep up with other brands, such as Oppo, Vivo, and Google. These companies have managed to create foldable phones that are thinner and wider, allowing them to function both as regular smartphones and compact tablets without feeling bulky. However, it seems that Samsung is taking the competition seriously, as they are expected to release a slimmer model this year called the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Recent images shared by OnLeaks and Android Headlines provide a sneak peek at the new Galaxy Z Fold 7. At first glance, it looks a lot like the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was launched last year. The new device will have a thickness of 4.5mm when it’s unfolded and 9.0mm when folded. This makes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 1.1mm slimmer than its predecessor, the Fold 6, and 0.4mm slimmer than the Fold 6 SE, which was only available in South Korea.
In terms of display size, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8.2-inch inner display, marking a significant upgrade from last year’s models. The device will measure 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm, suggesting a wider outer display, which many users have been requesting. While the exact aspect ratio of the outer screen is not yet clear, it is likely to be similar to that of the Fold 6 SE.
Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely be the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which was introduced in the Galaxy S25 lineup. This processor is known for its high performance and excellent heat management, although Samsung may choose to use its Exynos processor in some regions. It’s noteworthy that the battery will remain at 4,400mAh, so no changes are expected there.
When it comes to the camera setup, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a main 200MP lens, the same as the special Korean edition, but it’s unclear if there will be upgrades to the other lenses. The device includes a 10MP telephoto lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens, as well as 10MP and 4MP cameras for selfies. Despite the uncertainty regarding these updates, it appears that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be a solid improvement over the previous version. In addition to the Fold 7, Samsung will also launch a triple-foldable device this year, which adds to the anticipation surrounding these new smartphones expected to be released around mid-July.
What do you think about the new designs and features of the Galaxy Z Fold 7? Do you believe it can stand out in the competitive foldable market, or is it too little too late for Samsung? Your thoughts are welcome in the comments!
