Galaxy M16 5G Leads the Way with Samsung Wallet Tap & Pay Feature

Yesterday, Samsung introduced two new budget-friendly M-series smartphones for the Indian market. Among these, one model is making strides in mobile payment technology.
Samsung Wallet is gaining popularity as a mobile payment option worldwide, especially among users of Galaxy phones. However, not every Galaxy phone model can use the Tap & Pay feature because of certain hardware restrictions.
With the introduction of the Galaxy M16 5G in India, Samsung is eliminating these hardware limitations, allowing this budget-friendly phone to support the Wallet’s Tap & Pay feature for the first time.
On the downside, the Galaxy M06 5G, which was also unveiled yesterday, does not have this feature because it does not have NFC (Near Field Communication) capability.
Fortunately, the Galaxy M16 5G does include NFC, making it the first affordable M-series phone equipped with Tap & Pay functionality. This means users of the Galaxy M16 5G will be able to make safe and quick payments using their phones at payment terminals.
The starting price for the Galaxy M16 5G is INR 11,499, which is about $132. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone is set to officially launch on March 5. If you’ve been looking for a Samsung phone that can utilize the Wallet’s Tap & Pay feature without breaking the bank, make sure to mark that date on your calendar.
This new offering could be a game-changer for budget-conscious consumers looking for the convenience of mobile payments.
