Hennessey Unveils New Super Venom Mustang

If you’re a fan of powerful cars, you might want to look away if you’re disappointed that the best Mustangs fall mainly into the hands of Americans. After Shelby brought back the GT350 with an impressive output of up to 810 horsepower, Hennessey has taken things even further with their new release: the 860-horsepower Super Venom Mustang.
This incredible power boost of 70% over the standard output of a U.S. 5.0-liter GT comes largely from a supercharger added to the Coyote V8 engine. Alongside this, the Super Venom also features upgraded fuel injectors and pump for better fuel delivery, which allows the engine to consume more air. It has an enhanced induction setup to meet its increased air requirements and also comes with a Hennessey engine control unit to handle everything efficiently. With 850 brake horsepower at 7,250 RPM and 650 pound-feet of torque, the Super Venom can dash from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and complete a quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph. This powerful performance is achieved with a 10-speed automatic transmission, while a six-speed manual is also available.
In addition to its powerful engine, the Super Venom features a customized carbon fiber aerodynamic kit designed by Hennessey. It includes a bulky rear wing, a front splitter that hugs the ground, functional slats in the front fenders, side skirts, vented hood, and boot lid. This kit significantly modifies the car’s appearance, showcasing a lot of carbon fiber, although Hennessey doesn’t claim to have reduced the car’s weight despite introducing new 20-inch wheels.
Hennessey plans to produce only 91 Super Venom Mustangs, which aligns with the year the company was founded. Each car will feature a unique ‘91 Icon Livery available in black, silver, or red. Inside, there will be new leather and suede materials, along with special badging that includes the individual serial number for each unit.
Hennessey’s Design Director, Nathan Malinick, explained that their team worked diligently to honor the Mustang’s esteemed history with this new design. The car showcases both a unique interior and track-focused improvements that pay tribute to the muscle car’s exciting heritage, along with Hennessey Performance’s legacy.
Orders for the Super Venom Mustang are currently open in the U.S., with starting prices at $149,950 for a GT model and $163,950 for the powerful 860-horsepower Dark Horse version. Customers can purchase these cars through select Ford dealers in the United States, which means buyers will enjoy the Blue Oval warranty in addition to a three-year warranty from Hennessey. This car certainly makes a statement, whether you’re cruising into a car gathering or heading out for a spirited drive.
