Honda has just launched two new electric scooters in India: the Activa e: and QC1. These scooters are Honda’s first step into the electric two-wheeler market in India. Let’s look at what’s special about them:

Activa e:

The Activa e: is based on Honda’s popular Activa scooter, but with an electric twist:

  • Battery: It has two 1.5 kWh batteries that you can swap out. This gives it a range of 102 km on a full charge.
  • Power: The motor gives 6 kW of power and can go up to 80 km/h.
  • Features: It has a 7-inch screen that shows lots of info and can connect to your phone. It also has LED lights and three riding modes.
  • Colors: You can choose from five colors like blue, white, and black.

QC1:

The QC1 is a smaller, simpler electric scooter:

  • Battery: It has a fixed 1.5 kWh battery that gives 80 km range.
  • Power: The motor is 1.8 kW and can go up to 50 km/h.
  • Features: It has a 5-inch screen, LED lights, and two riding modes.
  • Storage: It has 26 liters of space under the seat.

Booking and Availability:

  • You can book these scooters from January 1, 2025.
  • They’ll first be available in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
  • Deliveries will start in February 2025.
  • The booking amount is Rs. 1,000.

Why This Matters:

These new electric scooters show that Honda is serious about making eco-friendly vehicles. They’re designed to be easy to use in cities and should help reduce pollution. With features like swappable batteries and phone connectivity, Honda is trying to make electric scooters more practical for everyday use.
