Hyundai Revamps Palisade Flagship SUV with Bold Design and Advanced Powertrains

Hyundai recently unveiled a completely redesigned Palisade in South Korea, marking a significant evolution for its flagship SUV. With a fresh design, enhanced interior space, and a focus on luxury, the new Palisade is set to make its global debut next year.

The 2025 Palisade adopts a more boxy and assertive profile, drawing inspiration from the SantaFe while retaining its distinctive character. The exterior features clean lines, sleek surfaces, and a prominent grille flanked by vertically oriented LED lights. This updated design language exudes sophistication and reinforces the Palisade’s commanding road presence.

Hyundai has also increased the Palisade’s dimensions, contributing to a more balanced and spacious feel. A longer wheelbase, reduced front overhang, and extended rear section enhance its overall stance. Blacked-out pillars, a flat beltline, and new LED taillights add a modern touch, while brushed aluminum accents, extended roof rails, and striking 21-inch alloy wheels elevate its premium aesthetic.

Inside, the Palisade’s cabin takes inspiration from high-end furniture design. A seamless curved panel houses dual 12.3-inch digital displays, serving as the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster. The gear selector has been relocated to the steering column, freeing up valuable space on the center console. Physical knobs and buttons for climate control provide a user-friendly complement to the digital interface.

Passenger comfort remains a priority, with a versatile three-row layout capable of accommodating up to nine occupants. The front-row center console can be cleverly transformed into an extra seat, while optional second-row captain’s chairs provide an added touch of luxury. Even the third row has been redesigned for improved comfort and visibility.

Under the hood, Hyundai has replaced the previous engine options with an all-new 2.5-liter turbocharged lineup, available in both petrol and hybrid configurations. The hybrid variant pairs a slightly detuned 2.5-liter engine with a 73 PS electric motor, a six-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.65 kWh battery. This setup delivers a combined output of 334 PS and boasts an impressive claimed range of over 1,000 km, thanks to a 72-liter fuel tank.

For those who prefer a conventional petrol powertrain, Hyundai offers a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that outperforms the outgoing 3.8-liter V6 despite its smaller displacement. This engine generates 281 PS and 422 Nm of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

With its bold new design, luxurious interior, and advanced powertrain options, the 2025 Hyundai Palisade is poised to redefine the flagship SUV segment. Its global launch next year is highly anticipated, and it could potentially make its way to the Indian market in the near future.
