Infinix XPAD Review: Great Value 4G Tablet

When looking for a good entry-level tablet, it’s important to find one that delivers a great multimedia experience, solid performance, a nice design, and decent battery life—all while keeping the price affordable. The Infinix XPAD manages to strike this balance quite impressively.
This tablet features a sleek design and a large display with a high refresh rate, along with four speakers, making it a great choice for media consumption. While it may not have everything perfect, after using the Infinix XPAD, I can say it offers a lot for its price point.
The Infinix XPAD has a metal body with a stylish dual-tone matte finish. I tried the Stellar Grey version and found it appealing in its simplicity. The tablet has speakers positioned at the top and bottom for better sound, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. The power and volume buttons are conveniently located on the right side. Keep in mind that it does not come with an IP rating, so it’s best to keep it away from water. Despite being a large tablet, it is comfortable to hold, although getting a case can improve portability and act as a stand. Some might miss the fingerprint sensor or face unlock features, as they are not available on this tablet.
On the front, you’ll find an 11-inch Full HD display (1900 x 1200 pixels) with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 440 nits. The bezels around the screen are slightly thicker, but they help prevent accidental touches, which is a plus. The display is bright enough for indoor use, and the multimedia experience is enhanced by the tablet’s quad speakers. While they provide loud sound, they can be bass-heavy and might lack depth in the middle frequencies.
The tablet also features color adjustments for the display and is certified for Widevine L1, allowing you to stream content in Full HD quality on services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. However, it lacks an ambient light sensor, so there is no auto-brightness option, which can be a little inconvenient at times.
When it comes to cameras, the XPAD has 8MP cameras on both the front and back. These cameras focus more on basic functionality than high-quality photography. The rear camera often produces images with saturated colors and lacks in detail and edge detection, while the front camera generally provides decent skin tone accuracy but softens fine details.
For connectivity, it has two 4G SIM slots for easy mobile use. The call quality is clear, and 4G speeds are similar to what you’d expect from smartphones, although some users may notice slower speeds in certain places.
In terms of performance, the Infinix XPAD is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, available with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with an SD card. Everyday tasks like browsing, social media, watching videos, and playing light games work well without significant slowdowns. However, multitasking or running more demanding games can lead to some lag.
The tablet runs on XOS, based on Android 14, and offers a clean experience, with minimal pre-installed apps. While it doesn’t plan to include OS upgrades, it does promise two years of security updates.
Battery-wise, the XPAD comes equipped with a 7,000mAh battery supporting 18W charging. Battery life is reasonably good, typically lasting a full day for regular users. With heavy usage, you might find yourself charging it nightly. While the charging speed isn’t very fast, it’s reasonable for this price range.
The Infinix XPAD is priced starting at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB/128GB version and Rs 14,999 for the 8GB/256GB model, making it an attractive option in the budget tablet category. It offers a compelling multimedia experience, good performance, and a lightweight design at this price. Its closest competitors include the Redmi Pad SE, which has a similar display and better battery life but doesn’t support 4G connectivity, and the Realme Pad 2, which boasts a higher refresh rate. Overall, the Infinix XPAD offers a solid all-around experience and is definitely worth considering.
