March’s PS Plus Monthly Games Feature Dragon Age: The Veilguard

A new month is just around the corner, which means Sony is gearing up to update the selection of games available for PlayStation Plus members. If you’re subscribed, you can claim and keep these new games as long as your subscription is active. From March 4 to March 31, you’ll have the opportunity to grab Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection.
Among these, Dragon Age: The Veilguard for PS5 stands out as the most exciting title. Fans of the series have been eagerly waiting for a new game for ten years. This long wait was partly due to BioWare, the game’s developer, changing its approach to the title several times. Veilguard is a direct follow-up to Dragon Age: Inquisition, which came out in 2014. Overall, the new game received good reviews, with players praising its impressive graphics and the detailed character designs typical of BioWare.
However, even though many players were interested in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it didn’t meet the sales expectations set by its parent company, EA. In the first two months after its release, only 1.5 million people played the game, which was about half of what EA anticipated. This player count includes those using the EA Play Pro subscription service, so the actual number of game copies sold remains unclear. This disappointing performance might explain why Dragon Age: The Veilguard is being added to the PS Plus Monthly Games list just a little over four months after it launched.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate for PS4 is a remastered version of a game that originally came out on the Wii back in 2010. If you are a fan of platformers, this title might be right up your alley. Then there’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, which is available for both PS4 and PS5. This collection features 13 classic TMNT games released by Konami between 1989 and 1994, including the beloved Turtles in Time. The collection is packed with handy features, such as options for online and local multiplayer, a rewind feature for gameplay, saving your progress at any moment, and the ability to customize button settings. Additionally, players can enjoy concept art and historical TMNT media content.
If you’re interested in these new titles, mark your calendar for March 4 when they officially enter the PS Plus Essential lineup. In the meantime, you can still take advantage of the games available from February, which are Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. Enjoy exploring these exciting titles and adding them to your gaming library!
