OnePlus is set to kick off 2025 with a bang, announcing the global launch of its highly anticipated OnePlus 13 series on January 7th. The event will feature the flagship OnePlus 13, previously unveiled in China, and the all-new OnePlus 13R, expected to be a rebranded version of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 5. Adding to the excitement, OnePlus will also introduce a fresh color option for its popular OnePlus Buds Pro 3 TWS earphones.

OnePlus 13R: Design and Features

The OnePlus 13R will launch in key global markets, including India, boasting a design that closely resembles the base OnePlus 13 model. A circular camera module housing three sensors and an LED flash dominates the rear panel, while the right edge houses the power button and volume rocker.

OnePlus has confirmed that the 13R will pack a substantial 6,000mAh battery, a notable upgrade from the 5,000mAh cell in its predecessor, the OnePlus 12R. The company is also highlighting AI-powered features, including advanced note-taking capabilities and photo editing tools. Furthermore, the 13R will come with OnePlus’s “green line worry-free lifetime warranty,” providing added peace of mind for consumers.

Rumors suggest the OnePlus 13R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with 12GB of RAM. It is expected to run Android 15-based OxygenOS 15.0 and feature a 6.78-inch (1,264×2,780 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is likely to be offered in two color options: Astral Trail and Nebula Noir.

In terms of camera capabilities, the OnePlus 13R is rumored to sport a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. An in-display optical fingerprint sensor will provide secure authentication. Other anticipated features include an IR blaster and 80W wired fast charging. The phone is also expected to be more compact and slimmer than the OnePlus 12R.

OnePlus Buds Pro 3: New Sapphire Blue Color

Alongside the OnePlus 13 series, the company will unveil a new color option for its OnePlus Buds Pro 3 TWS earphones. Initially launched in Lunar Radiance and Midnight Opus shades, the Buds Pro 3 will now be available in a stylish Sapphire Blue. Priced at Rs. 11,999 in India, the Buds Pro 3 offer a premium audio experience with advanced features like noise cancellation and personalized sound profiles.

A Strong Start to 2025

With the global launch of the OnePlus 13 series and the introduction of a new Buds Pro 3 color, OnePlus is setting the stage for an exciting start to 2025. The 13R, with its powerful specifications and AI-enhanced features, is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive smartphone market. The addition of a new color option for the Buds Pro 3 further expands OnePlus’s audio offerings, catering to a wider range of consumer preferences.
