Patch Notes for Version 31.6.2 – Hearthstone

Patch Notes for Version 31.6.2 - Hearthstone

The latest update, Patch 31.6.2, is rolling out today, bringing several changes and fixes to the game. However, players should note that there are no balance adjustments for Hearthstone mode in this patch. Instead, the developers are focusing on a more significant balance overhaul planned for Patch 32.0, which will include changes for cards transitioning to the Wild format as well as for those remaining in Standard.

This upcoming balance update aims to provide the “Into the Emerald Dream” expansion with a solid chance to succeed in a revamped environment after card rotation. Additionally, it will allow some older decks and the Heroes of StarCraft to remain competitive in the current game until these changes are implemented. The delay in adjustments is intended to be beneficial for both the new and existing game formats.

As for what changes are being considered, the developers have shared that they plan to reduce the strength of specific cards and decks that may become overly powerful after the card rotations. Some of the elements they are looking to tone down include certain Terran and Zerg Heroes of StarCraft cards, other older cards expected to dominate, and powerful neutral Legendary cards known for disruptive play patterns, like Zilliax and Bob. Additionally, Raza the Resealed will undergo a significant rework due to its interaction with the Priest’s Imbue Hero Power.

Details about these impactful changes will be shared before the release of the 32.0 patch notes. Until then, players are encouraged to continue enjoying their favorite decks and participating in the card reveal season.

In the Battlegrounds section of the update, the developers focused on adjusting unintended interactions and balancing card powers. They have decreased the strengths of Raynor, Elementals, and Naga, while boosting the powers of Kerrigan, Beasts, Dragons, Murlocs, and Quilboar. They are also working on balancing the gameplay experience for Undead and Demons. Player feedback regarding the fun factor of various Anomalies is being collected and will influence future adjustments.

Moreover, a few general updates have been made, such as extending the turn timer in Duos from turn 8 onward.

There are specific changes to several heroes as well. For example, Jim Raynor’s power will now be based on his Hero Power instead of the Battlecruiser, which will help prevent players from abusing multiple upgrades each turn. Artanis requires fewer cards for his power, and Kerrigan’s armor has been reduced, along with some cost adjustments to her powers. Upgrades have also been implemented for the Mutalisk, Lurker, and Infestor cards.

Several minion updates have taken place, enhancing the power of some while lowering the tier for others. Minions like Arm of the Empire and Nalaa the Redeemer received upgrades to their stats or functionality, while others like Floating Watcher, Batty Terrorguard, and Forest Rover saw adjustments in their tier ratings and attributes.

A number of card pool updates have occurred, with the return of some cards to the minion pool and the removal of others from various spell pools. Notable minions have had their stats and abilities tweaked to better fit the current game balance.

Finally, a series of bugs have been fixed, including issues related to recipe order in the Hunter deck, various visual and operational bugs in Battlegrounds, and discrepancies in card stats. The developers are committed to improving the game experience and addressing any ongoing issues as they arise. Overall, the update brings a mix of planned changes, enhancements, and fixes to the game’s ecosystem.
