Samsung is reportedly planning to launch two new budget smartphones in India, the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G. These phones were recently spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, hinting at an imminent release.
While the BIS listings don’t reveal detailed specifications, the phones are expected to support dual-band Wi-Fi and run Android 14 with One UI 6. The Galaxy M16 5G was also reportedly seen on Geekbench, suggesting it could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC.
Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, launched in India in October, also features the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. This phone boasts a 6.7-inch 90Hz full-HD+ AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support.
It’s possible that the Galaxy M16 5G could share some similarities with the Galaxy A16 5G in terms of specifications and features.
The Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G are expected to be the successors to the Galaxy M15 5G and Galaxy F15 5G, respectively. As more information about these upcoming phones becomes available, it will be interesting to see how they compare to their predecessors and other budget smartphones in the Indian market.
