Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 images reveal a slimmer design

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Z Fold7, expected to be revealed around July. Recently, some leaked images have surfaced that showcase the design of this highly anticipated foldable device. While these graphics are based on computer-aided designs, meaning that some details might change before the official release, they offer a pretty clear idea of what Samsung is working on.
One of the notable features of the Galaxy Z Fold7 is its thinner profile. This trend started with competitors in China, particularly exemplified by Oppo’s recent Find N5, which is the current thinnest book-style foldable. Although the Fold7 won’t quite match Oppo’s sleekness, it is still designed to be significantly slimmer than its predecessors, making it more appealing to many users. When opened, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to measure about 4.5mm thick and around 9.5mm when folded. This thickness includes a camera bump, but without that, it is thought to be closer to 9mm, although the exact measurement hasn’t been confirmed yet.
For comparison, the Oppo Find N5 has a thickness of 4.2mm when opened and 8.9mm when closed. In practice, the difference in thickness between the Fold7 and Find N5 is minor enough that most users likely won’t notice much of a difference in their everyday use. The aspect ratio of the screens can also affect how the devices feel, but so far, details about this for the Fold7 remain unclear.
The dimensions of the Fold7 will change slightly as well; when unfolded, it is said to measure 158.4 x 143.1 mm, making it a bit taller and wider than the previous model. This might mean a wider cover screen, which could enhance the viewing experience for users.
On the downside, the battery size for the Galaxy Z Fold7 will remain at 4,400 mAh, which may not be impressive compared to other devices that fit larger 5,600 mAh batteries into similar designs. The Fold7 will feature an 8.2-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer screen, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which should ensure smooth performance.
In terms of cameras, the Fold7 is set to receive significant upgrades. It will feature a 200 MP main camera, which is an improvement from previous models. It will also come with a 12 MP ultrawide and a 10 MP telephoto camera. The selfie camera setup seems to remain unchanged from the Fold6, featuring a 4 MP camera under the display and a 10 MP camera on the outer screen.
While there are many exciting features on the horizon for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, including its thinner design and upgraded camera system, the decision to keep the battery size the same may leave some potential buyers wanting more. As the launch date approaches, more details will likely emerge, giving consumers a clearer picture of what to expect from this innovative device.
