Sir Rod Stewart’s son enters Malibu rehab for substance abuse following marriage issues.

Sean Stewart, the son of legendary musician Sir Rod Stewart, has checked himself into a rehabilitation facility to tackle his ongoing struggle with addiction. His family, deeply concerned for his well-being, organized an intervention to encourage him to seek help.
Sean, who is 44 years old, is currently residing in an expensive rehab center called Cliffside Malibu, which costs about $80,000 per month. This facility is known for its luxury and has previously been used by his close friend Scott Disick for similar issues. Sean’s decision to enter rehab comes just a few months after he ended his marriage to Jody Weintraub and started seeing Julia Stambler, who was once linked to actor Charlie Sheen.
According to a source, Sean is dealing with a pill addiction and has faced drug issues for many years. The family noticed signs that he was in trouble again, which prompted them to step in. They have observed when Sean is sober and when he is not, which raises concerns about his health. But it’s reported that Sir Rod Stewart is proud of Sean for recognizing his need for help and taking the initiative to seek treatment voluntarily.
Sean is anticipated to stay in rehab for about 90 days, which is typically the duration for this type of treatment. The facility offers beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, and an organic, healthy menu prepared by professional chefs. Patients also have access to activities such as yoga, acupuncture, horseback riding therapy, group counseling, and even a turn-down service in their rooms that are fitted with large televisions.
Sean has been candid about his substance abuse struggles in the past, stating that being the son of a famous musician sometimes felt more like a burden than a blessing. He revealed that he began drinking at the young age of 13 while attending Beverly Hills High School, which led to a spiral into harder drugs like ecstasy, heroin, and prescription pills. He has previously shared how easy it was for him to find drugs at parties and how his addiction grew over the years.
By the age of 19, Sean had developed a severe addiction to drugs and alcohol, which resulted in his parents cutting off his allowance and sending him to rehab at Meadows in Arizona. He has also faced legal issues related to his addiction and has been in and out of treatment multiple times, with his most recent stint occurring after the breakdown of his brief marriage to Jody, a daughter of renowned film producer Jerry Weintraub.
Sean and Jody married in 2023 after a whirlwind romance that started with a Valentine’s Day proposal. They had even bought a house together in Los Angeles but were reportedly separated shortly after. Following their split, Sean began dating Julia Stambler, who had previously worked as a nanny for Charlie Sheen’s children.
Recently, Sean was spotted celebrating his father’s 80th birthday on a luxurious super yacht with the family in Barbados. Sir Rod Stewart has children from multiple relationships and has often joked about the challenges of raising such a large blended family. Sean, being the eldest, stands alongside his siblings in navigating the complexities that come with their father’s fame.
