Slack has returned, but some users are facing login issues and other challenges.

I’m currently having trouble logging into Slack on my desktop, which seems to be a common issue for many users. According to the status updates from Slack, some people are facing ongoing problems while others have regained full access. It looks like the situation isn’t fully resolved yet.
Recent information from Slack reveals that they have pinpointed the root cause of the problem. While they’re keeping an eye on their system’s health, some users might still experience issues like difficulty loading their workspaces. Slack is actively working to fix the backend services affecting these features.
In their latest messages, Slack apologized for the ongoing disruptions and reassured users that they are striving to restore normal service as swiftly as possible. Meanwhile, some of my colleagues, including my boss, have successfully logged back into Slack, but I’m still experiencing problems.
It’s frustrating to see that even after many attempts, I can’t access the desktop version of Slack. Others on my team, like Mackenzie, are also unable to log in, which is making communication tough since we can’t reach each other easily. Slack’s status page indicates they are still investigating the issue but haven’t provided new information yet.
From what I see on my end, trying to log in brings up ongoing error messages, and it’s become increasingly annoying. As I check in with colleagues using different platforms, they are coping by falling back to older methods of communication, like email and Google Docs. While this isn’t ideal, it’s still functional, even though it lacks the real-time interaction that Slack provides.
Interestingly, the outages seem to coincide with problems affecting services like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Copilot, which could suggest a potential link, given that many apps use AWS for their cloud solutions. Slack is working hard to rectify issues with messaging, workflows, and other functionalities, but so far, things remain inconsistent.
As the hours pass without resolution, people are beginning to toggle between hope and frustration. I can see messages from others trying to adapt amid the downtime, with some starting to regain access to the service while I’m still in the dark.
Despite my troubles with the desktop app, I can still check messages on my mobile. However, I can’t send new messages, indicating that the outage is still affecting full functionality. It is a mixed bag, as while it’s nice to view ongoing conversations, it’s also limiting as I can’t contribute.
A colleague noted that Slack has been prone to outages in the past, with significant downtimes recorded annually over the last few years. This pattern raises concerns about the reliability of such a crucial communication platform for many businesses that rely on it heavily.
It has become clear that Slack’s issues are impacting workflows broadly across organizations, and while they keep users updated, the persistent struggle to log in can significantly hinder productivity. It’s indeed a challenging time for those of us waiting for important features to come back online.
