New Anime Adaptation
One of the biggest highlights is the announcement of an anime adaptation based on the Suikoden II story. This new series will be directed by Yūzō Satō, who works at Konami Animation, the studio responsible for bringing this beloved story to life in a new format. The producer will be Ryō Hino, who is associated with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan.
Upcoming Mobile Game: Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap
Another exciting announcement is the development of a mobile game called Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap, which will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. The official website provides a glimpse into the story:
"The Rune of Change is one of the 27 True Runes that are said to have created the world. The story begins just east of the huge Scarlet Moon Empire, in a village by a lake. One fateful night, Hou’s son, the chief’s son, returns home from his first hunt. The village is filled with joy and hope but soon faces a sudden attack that changes everything. Our hero, along with friends Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur, sets out on a journey to bring peace back to the village. Amidst a storm of destiny, this small adventure grows into a much larger ambition—for our precious one."
The storyline will take place between the first Suikoden game and Suikoden V, featuring fully voiced characters. Notably, Aki Shimizu, the manga artist behind the Suikoden III manga, is set to create a manga adaptation for this new game. The theme song titled "Campanella" will be composed and performed by Kaho Nakamura.
