Lineage is one of those series that I’ve heard a lot about but have never tried, which is ridiculous. The franchise as a whole is astronomically popular, being one of the highest grossing of all time. Now, NC America is ready to expand this empire, with the release of Journey of Monarch.
It’s being released on both PC and mobile, complete with crossplay, but it looks like it’ll be more at home on your phone. That’s because Journey of Monarch is a free-to-play idle MMORPG, so you’ll always want access to it to start your virtual hero on a variety of missions. Quest might be the wrong word, since from what the title no doubt tells you, you are the nobility here.
Take the reins of the world of Aden, gathering a party of up to eight heroes as you explore the land. These brave warriors come from past Lineage games and come in several flavors. Defender, Melee, Ranged, and Mage are your main types, along with elements like Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Neutral.
During your journey you will have to manage your team’s equipment, equipping them with the latest loot and upgrades you find. Equipment can also be augmented with magical dolls, command abilities, weapons and costumes. After all, the true ending of all MMORPGs is fashion. Your monarch’s appearance can be customized to your liking, but more importantly, so can your mounts.
In the open world, you will engage in massive battles against a variety of ferocious enemies, but the most dangerous fights will take place in the arena. It’s not open yet, but in a future update expected to happen soon, you’ll be able to challenge other players in one-on-one duels. PvE or PvP, whatever you choose, you will have fun.
Journey of Monarch is now available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
