Ubisoft addresses significant leak regarding Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Recently, a few players received their copies of Assassin’s Creed Shadows earlier than expected, even though the game has faced two delays. Ubisoft, the company behind the game, has asked those players not to share any spoilers, emphasizing that the game they are currently playing does not reflect its final quality. The official launch is set for March 20, 2025, and Ubisoft described this situation as “unfortunate.”
This week, many reports indicated that some gamers in the United States had already gotten their hands on physical copies of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Some players are not just playing the game; they are also streaming it live on Twitch and posting images online. Although it is not clear why these copies are available before the official release, Ubisoft responded by telling players to refrain from sharing any information about the game.
Ubisoft addressed this situation on social media, stating, “We are aware players have accessed Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its official release. The development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch, and any footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game.” They further added that leaks can spoil the excitement for everyone, and they thanked their community for helping to protect others from potential spoilers. They encouraged everyone to stay away from leaked information and to watch for more official announcements as the release date approaches.
The development of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has not been smooth. It was originally scheduled to launch on November 15, 2024, but was delayed to February 14, 2025. Following feedback from the gaming community, Ubisoft decided to delay it again, landing on the final release date of March 20, 2025.
Additionally, there was a leak regarding the game’s first DLC, titled Claws of Awaji. This information came out through the game’s Steam page and indicated that the DLC will allow players to explore a new area, adding over 10 hours of new content, along with new weapons, skills, gear, and abilities.
