Vehicle Crashes into Fish and Chip Shop

A car crashed into a fish and chip shop located in a retail park this afternoon. The incident took place at Deysbrook Retail Parade on Deysbrook Lane in West Derby, with Merseyside Police being alerted around 4:15 PM on Wednesday, February 26.
Images from the scene reveal that a blue Mercedes ended up smashed against the front of Panda Chippy, a local fish and chip shop. The car appears to be lodged into the brick wall of the shop, with shattered windows visible as well. Fortunately, police reported that the crash only caused damage to the shop and that there were no injuries reported among anyone at the scene. However, a gas leak was detected as a result of the impact, leading Cadent Gas to respond to the situation. As a precaution, the chip shop was evacuated, and the public has been advised to steer clear of the area while cleanup efforts are underway.
This crash comes on the heels of another incident that happened earlier the same day. A black Mercedes vehicle also crashed into the front of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop on Lord Street in Southport. Following that crash, officials quickly set up a small cordon around the affected area.
Witnesses reported that during the second crash, a lady in her 80s was a passenger in the car. A bystander noted, “I was outside the shop when I heard the crash. It seemed like the driver had some kind of medical episode.” They mentioned that there happened to be another woman looking into the shop at the time of the incident, and she appeared quite shaken, but thankfully, no one was injured. After the crash, police assisted in getting the man out of the car while several police cars, fire trucks, and an ambulance arrived at the scene.
The area has been busy with emergency services responding to these incidents, and it emphasizes the importance of safety and caution around such situations.
