In what has been one of the longest, most frustrating and frustrating stretches before an update is released, Warframe: 1999 is finally available to enjoy. We’ve had webcomics, music, animations, and an entire Tennocon full of teasers, and now we can sit back and fully dive into Höllvania.
To celebrate the 1999 launch, a collaboration between Warframe and Game of the Year nominee Balatro is now starting. That’s if you believe the Game Awards, they are clearly rigged; there’s no way that Wuthering Waves, Final Fantasy XIV, or Warframe itself didn’t win anything. Anyway, you can now slap Excalibur, Mag, and Volt onto the King, Queen, and Jack cards in Balatro,
1999 will take you to Höllvania as you bond with The Hex while defeating the Scaldra army and the Techrot infestation. You will have to find the man behind all this, Doctor Entrati, before the clock reaches midnight. You’ll experience this story in high-quality audio, thanks to prolific voice actors like Neil Newbon, Nick Apostolides, Ben Starr and Alpha Takahashi.
These actors will also add a lot of depth to the new romance and relationship system. You can instant message Hex members to learn their backstories, forge a strong alliance, and maybe even advance it further. Of course with the new Gemini skin, you could fall in love with the characters as if they were themselves, which would be strange but slightly fun.
There are four new mission types to enjoy, including the first PvPvE game type; Comparison. Here, two teams of four will compete in an objective-based relay, or you can assist Kalymos in their hunt with Legacyte Harvest. Hell-Scrub will see you protect the eponymous workers as they clean Höllvania, or you can enjoy an action-packed boss battle in H-09 Efervon Tank Assassination.
You can enjoy all this new content with the 59th Wardame, Cyte-09. Its tactical gear lets you see and shoot enemies through walls, stalk the battlefield with cloaking technology, and upgrade your weapons and those of your allies with elemental ammunition. Finally, summon the Exalted sniper rifle to really snipe your opponents.
