Weekend Getaway: A Motorcycle Adventure
Introduction
Last weekend turned out to be an exciting adventure, even though my original plan was to have a relaxing trip to Dapoli, enjoying the local Konkan cuisine. Instead of unwinding, my journey led me to some unexpected experiences. Here’s a recap of my weekend riding adventure that stretched over 400 kilometers.
The Journey Begins
I initially set off with high hopes of a calm weekend, but my plans started to unravel on Friday night. I ended up staying up late, which made it difficult to wake up early. I finally got going around 9:15 AM on Saturday. Getting out of Mumbai can be quite challenging, and I didn’t reach Panvel until around 11 AM due to heavy traffic.
Change of Plans: From Dapoli to Alibaug
Given the morning heat and the delay, I opted to modify my destination. Instead of heading straight to Dapoli, I made a quick decision to ride to Alibaug instead. The new plan involved indulging in some delicious fish dishes and returning home via a ferry. It was a smart choice considering the warm weather and late start.

I parked my motorcycle on the Alibaug-Mandwa Road and headed to a well-known local spot called Prabhakar’s, located in Chondi market. Here, I treated myself to a mouthwatering fish thali, a delightful platter featuring a variety of seafood that was both delicious and satisfying.

After my fulfilling lunch, I decided to relax at a charming coffee shop named The Deli. This cozy place provided a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for my ferry back to Mumbai.

Once I had finished my coffee, I caught the ferry for the return journey. The ferry ride was serene, offering beautiful views of the coastline and a welcome break from riding.

An Unexpected Ride to Lonavala
Upon returning to Mumbai, I received an invitation to join a riding group from Triumph for another adventure. This time, we planned to visit a popular eatery known for its Misal Pav in Lonavala. It was an extra 200 kilometers round trip, but I was up for more riding.
The Beauty of Khopoli Ghats
The ride to Lonavala via the Khopoli Ghats was breathtaking. I couldn’t resist capturing some photos along the way, showcasing the stunning landscapes and twisting roads. Riding through the ghats offers a unique experience filled with lush greenery and impressive views.
