Winter’s icy grip wraps around Monster Hunter Now with the Roars of the Winterwind update

I am here, once again, to state the obvious; It’s been damn cold lately. Getting out of bed in the morning seems like a Herculean task and walking around with two radiators in your pants is still not enough. It’s no surprise then that Monster Hunter Now has released its latest update, Roars in the Winterwind.

As the name undoubtedly suggests, here we will go hunting in freezing weather. The new tundra habitat will be home to the monsters you might expect to frolic on the ice. Tigrex, Lagombi, Colcidon, and Somnacanth will make their debut, with Barioth, Wulg, and Cortos reappearing for the first time since spring.

One of the monsters’ most vital features will rear its head, with a customizable companion available to support you in the field. You can choose the name, fur color and pattern, eyes, ears, tail, voice and much more. After that, take them into battle or simply pose with them in Palico AR.

There’s also another new friend entering the fray, with the Sword Ax now available to equip. This handy kit can switch between long-range Ax mode and powerful strike and rapid-fire Sword mode. Perfect for chasing fast customers or huge hulking behemoths.

For additional assistance in battle, the Cheering Friends feature gives you a boost simply for being polite. You will be able to send and receive cheers, each adding one to your maximum health, up to a maximum of ten. It may not be the biggest boost, but never turn down the free energy. Applause can be sent to up to ten people per day.

Finally, the gear loadout is now doubled, so you can now have a maximum of 20, and as we all know, fashion is the real bottom line. So, download Monster Hunter Now from the App Store and Google Play and fill the slots with your fanciest armor.
