Many encountered error messages, including a common one that read, “Something went wrong. Try re-loading.” For some, the app exhibited intermittent connectivity, with brief moments of functionality followed by outages again just minutes later.

Nick Sutrich, a staff member from Android Central, shared his experience of the outage, initially thinking the fault lay with his own network rather than the app itself. He mentioned that sometimes the app simply wouldn’t load without giving an error message.

According to Downdetector data, at the peak of the outage, approximately 42,000 users reported issues. In the United States, 58% of users faced problems, while 56% of Canadian users experienced similar difficulties. The data provided by Downdetector illustrated significant fluctuations in service availability, suggesting that the company is actively working to identify the problem and restore full functionality.

X, which has undergone several changes since its rebranding from Twitter, appears to have been hit particularly hard by this outage.
