If the idea of surviving in a prehistoric world and making friends with a whole host of dinosaurs and other similar creatures doesn’t sound like a good time, we can’t be friends. For all those who are right and love this idea; good news! ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition launched for thousands of hours of dinosaur fun.
In the original ARK Island mode, you wake up on a mysterious island frozen, hungry, and with absolutely nothing to your name. You have to scavenge for supplies, make tools, hunt for food, and generally make a home for yourself, all with ferocious dinosaurs surrounding you. Luckily, you can befriend them, ride them, and fight alongside them if you’re skilled enough to tame them.
As you may have noticed from the name, this is the Ultimate Edition. This means you can get the full Survival Evolved experience, plus all the expansion packs. This includes Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Parts 1 and 2, as well as the community-created fan-favorite map Ragnarok. The complete dinosaur survival experience on the go, what else do you need?
Note: “can” get the full experience. Unfortunately, Grove Street Games has gone down the monetization path, with the Ark Pass subscription. You will have access to all current and future expansions for $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. This also gives you monthly bonuses, such as extra XP, free keys, and God Console.
For those who prefer to own rather than rent, and let’s be honest, that’s most of us, you can choose to purchase these expansions instead. Drop a few quid into the Scorched Earth package and you can cross deserts and meet fantastic dragons ready to team up with you or eat you. Or, head into the future with Aberration, explore a malfunctioning ARK, and discover what fate holds for you. Provided you can survive the Nameless One, distort the humanoids infused with the Elements.
ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition is available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
