Google Introduces Extended Warranty Options for Pixel Buyers

Now, Pixel device owners can choose to pay a single upfront amount for a two-year warranty, instead of the previous monthly payment plan. Those who own the foldable Pixel devices, such as the Pixel Fold, will pay $279 for the two-year warranty. For budget-friendly options like the Pixel 8a and 7a, the costs are $109 and $99, respectively. Additionally, the Pixel Tablet’s two-year warranty is available for $99, while the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 can be covered for $89 each.
Another important update involves Google’s collaboration with a new insurance company, Asurion. Starting on February 24, 2025, Asurion will take over as the service contract provider for all new Pixel devices that are shipped. However, devices that ship before this date will continue to be covered by Assurant, which was Google’s previous partner. This change in providers might bring different terms and experiences for users, although the specific details of these differences haven’t been provided yet.
